A smug maritime salvage consultant

The Iso-Pirate War is an armed conflict which began in Y2S3. Following the establishment of Skull Cove in early Y2S3 the Ye Olde Pipe Club began archaeologic and maritime salvage operations throughout New Eden, primarily focused on ancient sites and maritime wrecks. During this period the Isolationist movement lead by mrunix had spread to, depending on reports, half a dozen to a dozen native villages throughout the planet. Despite building a large base immediately to the north of New Eden City, the Isos had not normalized relations with LEIGH&CO prior to the onset of the war. Additionally the Isos, due to their ideology, had largely rejected the Land Office and declined protection from LEIGH&CO in general. As a result, these lands were in jurisdictional limbo and not under the protection of LEIGH&CO::FORCE.

Against this backdrop, at some point the Ye Olde Pipe Club began stealing construction materials such as wool and iron from an untold number of Iso storehouses scattered throughout the planet. The theft became known to mrunix who retaliated by using the Land Office system to purchase land rights all around the fence of Skull Cove, hemming in the archaeologists/deep sea recovery consultants/pirates. This created an Iso-owned buffer zone around their base prohibiting their expansion and ensuring that Isos would always have a toe-hold at their facilities.

This clever use of legal maneuvering enraged the pirates, who proceeded to purchase large amounts of TNT from mrunix and other resellers, and then the pirates ironically used this TNT to attack Iso villages. Iso forces were caught by surprise and the pirates managed to destroy two keystone villages, including the first village mrunix took shelter in after fleeing from New Eden City and its attendant oppression. A third village, 19k Mining Camp was burned to the ground by the dread pirate/deep sea salvage expert Wulfmundr. A monument now memorializes the exact block he set ablaze.

Despite the Iso LEIGH&CO War, LC::F elements dispatched a humanitarian aid mission to 19k Mining Camp and used Technica to established a defensive wall and to make other repairs to the town to minimize the loss of life and to provide sanctuary against the dangerous monsters in this area. Seeing these works, mrunix invited LEIGH&CO to established its first embassy at an Iso site, the first real step in normalizing diplomatic relations in three years and perhaps a beginning to the end of the Iso LEIGH&CO war.

At some point during the conflict, mrunix and his forces bombed the Skull Cove nether portal station, although service was quickly restored by LEIGH&CO. The pirates faced additional problems when Ye Olde Pipe Club was brought up on criminal charges for theft and racketeering of LEIGH&CO property.
