LEIGH&CO::FORCE is the military arm of the LEIGH&CO corporation. As a direct continuation of Earth-based military tradition dating back thousands of years the sole occupation of LC::FORCE is war. The various branches of LC::FORCE engage routinely in both direct action (D/A), indirect action (I/A), and covert action (C/A) campaigns designed to directly and indirectly apply martial power to further LEIGH&CO policy goals and to deny the Enemy an ability to operate. LC::FORCE has a wide array of platforms and capabilities available to prosecute D/A operations.

Heavy Strategic Lift

Due to LEIGH&CO's monopoly on end drive technology, LC::FORCE has the only military (or civil) strategic and tactical lift capability available on-world or off-world. This capability allows the rapid forward-projection, both intra and inter-theater, of military materiel to both LC::FORCE personal and partner governments within moments. Backed by LEIGH&CO's technical material generation platforms, LEIGH&CO is able to produce items in any quantity in moments, ensuring that there is always a bottomless and strong logistics chain.

During the Iso Pirate War, LC::FORCE personnel served the I/A mission by rapidly deploying aid shelters, food, general supplies, and emergency monster walls to native Iso villages attacked by pirates, including those located on the rad border, where monster activity is particularly fierce.

Ships

In contrast to the varied mission profiles of the LEIGH&CO civil fleet, the LC::FORCE fleet of ships has one purpose: the open and naked promise of death, and the capability to effortlessly keep that promise at any place, at any time, in any circumstance. As a result, LC::FORCE ships have no notable cargo carrying capability and other little more than engines and weapons.

Unlike the civil fleet, LC::FORCE capital ships employ dual end drives staggered using a Zeol revolver to a single end grain. One drive is charmed for a positive zero point (left character), and the other drive is charmed for a negative zero point (right character). During a tactical jump this allows the complimentary end drive to couple to the end and, from the reference frame of the end grain, begin initiating a second jump before the first jump frame has collapsed. Through this capability the slaved drive pair gains the ability to leave before it has arrived, opening the possibility for acausal operations. If one drive unit were to become disabled for any reason, the ship would still function, albeit causally. As a result of this capability, essentially, a capital ship can deliver its entire weapons payload without seeming to have ever left dock.

Executor-Class Offensive Unit

The Executor Class is nominally a line of Rapid Diplomatic Unit (RDU) vessels first fielded in Y1. Although classified as RDUs and advertised in that manner to the general public to de-emphasize their true character, in reality, Executors are fully armed and operational warships ranking A9 on the Alscherson scale and serve no other purpose but war. In their dormant full compression configuration Executors are 1km in length and 128 meters to beam at the hard hull and displace roughly 114,000 tons.

Executors carry four belly railgun pairs for eight arms total, and seven belly railgun pairs for fourteen arms total. Additionally, a single lateral railgun pair on each side of the ship provides supplementary coverage. In order to increase the Executor's capacity for intimidation, large internal stores bays located on the bottom of the ship (and therefore visible from the ground) reveal a payload of conventional weapons. A typical load-out for a diplomatic mission would include;

  • 15 TNT tipped cruise missiles
  • 35 TNT gravity cluster bombs located on a revolving rack

Less apparent to casual observers are the ships end magazines which hold buffers of 92,896 TNT in inter-dimensional pockets coupled through the ships end grain. These buffers automatically replenish the racks in the internal stores, allowing continuous delivery of conventional explosives. Additionally, the buffers are deep enough that through nether coupling, LEIGH&CO munitions factories can re-supply the TNT buffers at the same time the ship is engaged in combat. With this platform operational, the TNT reserve of an Executor is effectively bottomless, at any range, on any world.

Unconventional Weapons

Although an Executor and other ships of the line can deliver conventional weapons to decisive and devastating effect, persistent rumors hold that the true power of the fleet lies not with any amount of TNT, but rather unconventional weapons that have not been, to date, used in any public conflict.
