8 Elesias 1492
- Still the 8th, around 2 pm. It's getting dark.
- I'm alone by the brazier, not sure what's going on. I thought there was someone else there I was trying to stop. There are some things in the brazier but I don't know how they got there
- Then I hear Korag yell something, apparently he found a cave and in the cave a dim light. In the cave there is some rubble and a rock wall which has caved in. There is an entrance to the cave area which is wide enough for one person to crawl in at a time
- Korag goes in the cave just inside. He sees immediately that there are several statues lined up against the wall which look like the statues but are in very good condition
- Inside there are also a number of small sleeping animals who seem startled to see the giant. He also sees a large white moose with blood on its fur. Korag seems surprised and calls for the druid.
- The moose attacks but misses
- Korag attacks back, hits. The moose is startled but doesn't back away
- The others start to try to push their way into the cave, the entrance is blocked. I get as close as I can and get my bow ready.
- Resda uses firebolt, she hits the moose, it seems annoyed. It attacks back but hits the wall instead of her.
- Karthos uses entangle on the moose, avoiding catching Resda in it.
- Rudra smashes it with her war hammer and the moose calls out "why are you doing this"
- Korag says "we didn't mean to but you attacked us first". The moose responds "you invade my home you cut down my forest you kill animals". Korag tries to persuade the moose to stop fighting to talk. The moose backs away. Combat is paused
- Karthos runs an arcana check on the moose, wondering if it is magical. He doesn't seem to sense anything but he starts talking with the moose.
- The moose stares back angrily, and says "you out of all of them should have known better". Karthos tries to agree with it and it attacks again. Clearly this is one of those rare dickmoose
- Karthos attacks with thunderclap, not much happens
- I fire an arrow at the moose, do 6 damage
- Rudra attacks again with her hammer, hit strongly
- Resda hits the moose with firebolt again
- Korag runs over and hits the moose with his hammer yelling "take a nap moose". The moose is still up but doesn't seem happy
- Karthos won't stop talking to the bloody moose, asking it "have you always been able to speak?" Then tries to deafen the moose with a thunderclap but nothing seems to happen.
- I hit it with another arrow but it won't go down. Rudra follows up with another hammer blow. It seems unhappy.
- Min comes out of nowhere and stabs the moose right in the neck with a dagger. The moose falls over dead. I catch my breath. Min is covered in blood but seems to revel in it.
- There are three statues inside and they are clearly elves wearing robes. It's still very cold in the cave, but warmer than it is outside. We also see the inside of a doorway, we know it's the doorway we saw that the moose was using, the one outside.
- We also see several hallways leading out from the room.
- Karthos begins to remove the moose head
- Korag wanders down the halls to see what is there
- Door to the northwest appears to match the phase of the moon. Moon symbol on the door is glowing faintly, and I get a shock when I try to touch it.
- Korag comes to push on the door, and it swings open
- Standing on a sarcophagus in the middle of the room, is a large angry looking frost druid.
- The circular chamber has an intricately carved dome with light coming down from the ceiling. Someone has turned this chamber into a living quarters.
- The frost druid doesn't respond to any questions, then attacks Korag, who is blocking the hallway. She hits him with an ice sickle. Thankfully he is resistant to the cold
- He hits her with a hammer
- I stab her in the back with my sword, because Korag is alone with her
- She runs into the room and I get one more swing in, then she misses Korag
- I hit her with an arrow but in the shoulder, she's barely hurt.
- Korag hits again, a solid shot to the face, then casts shield of faith on himself. I keep yelling at the others.
- She screams that we will feel Auril's wrath and casts ice storm. It hurts. I lose consciousness.
- I wake up, it's clear the entire party is in very rough shape, but it appears we're all here. But everyone appears nearly dead. I can barely move. The druid is up, and he seems to be taking care of us.
