He is also noted as being the most wholesome survivor in all of New Eden, which does not stop him from driving a hard bargain at his various mercantile enterprises. Some say that when he woke up in the crash wreckage, he crawled for 3 days and nights, hauling his soggy luggage behind him, containing his prized bowling ball, Simon. Simon would later become desperately jealous of Melvin, his prized mine cart, since there are no bowling alleys in New Eden, but plenty of railroads.

Captain O'Hair was also noted for his exploits as a Treasure hunter.
