Saralas: Session 9

11 Eleasis 1492

• What do we do about this disaster? Resda not happy. But all our money.
• There are some dwarves about town, looking for help with a 'minor' problem they have
• We pay Xanthos or whatever his name is. We're broke now.
• We're set up for the night in the temple.
• Resda gets a little younger again.
• We have a long rest
• We decide to check in with the Dwarves before we head back north
• Cleric suggests checking in with Black Iron Blades, an adventuring shop. Though they may not be such a great quality shop.
• We don't even make it up to the shop before 3 dudes stop us
  • Hruna, Korux, and Storn. "We need help, and you all look capable"
  • They met a Yeti who killed one of their friends
  • They need someone to go back and get their sled
  • As payment, they offer each of us a gemstone worth 50 gold
  • The yeti is in the direction of Kelvin's Cairn
  • The sled is about halfway there, in the middle of the open tundra
• Karthos, in addition to knowing a lot about ghosts, understands blizzards deeply
• We settle in and huddle up with the dogs to wait out the blizzard
• When the blizzard dies down we see the sun has risen, it must have been a couple of hours
• We find a frozen dismembered corpse. We find tracks all around the corpse, and telltale tracks of a sled.
• The tracks we see are fresh, made within the last hour. Belong to half a dozen small humanoids. They head south along with the sled tracks.
• We follow the tracks in the snow. After about half an hour we catch up with goblins, we think. 6 of them. Groaning, grunting, and cursing. Hauling the sled towards a 20 foot tall wagon parked in the snow.
• The bears do not appear to be happy to be hauling the wagon, but are otherwise well fed
• Min rushes in so I guess we are fighting
• We kill several of the goblins including the leader
• Karthos casts speak with animals and it is clear the Polar Bears are angry. He casts animal friendship using potions we tool from the leader, and we head out of sight to wait for Karthos to rejoin us.
• We are worried the polar bears would attack us.
• We try to disengage from the bears but they do come after us
• We manage to distract the bears enough to get away, and drag the sled back to town
• We get our reward from the dwarves.
• We sell the gems and we find the tavern
