  • We are in battle, at Jarlmoot
  • But there is nothing visible
  • I case spike growth with myself in the center
  • Karthos doesn't see any tracks on the ground
  • Something invisible hits Resda
  • Korag lights up
  • Something else hits Resda
  • We are fighting invisible creatures, I struggle to hit them.
  • Resda flies and dumps flour on one of the creatures. We're able to hit that one more easily. She does it to the second one as well. We're able to see them but they are still very hard to hit
  • My arrows aren't doing a lot. I reach into my bag of tricks and pull out a giant elk
  • Korag manages to explode the one to the north
  • He manages to explode the second one, but the elk helped
  • I look at the leader guy
  • The frost giant to the south looks very impressed, and leans back on his throne. All 7 of the giants begin chanting an incantation and fade from view until they are gone.
  • The throne to the south noiselessly raises 30 feet into the air, revealing a passageway leading underground
  • Min and Korag head into the passageway. We enter the chamber. As soon as the party enters the chamber the throne sinks back down
  • To the left is a closed stone double door with not handle or hinges. to the right is a curved tunnel blocked by an iron gate. The iron hinges on the northern side of the gate indicate it swings inwards
  • There are 6 braziers in shallow alcoves in the shape of a stone urn. Carved into each urn is a rune. Above the alcoves looms a stone archway, which has an inscription.
  • It is a poem in dwarvish
    • Snatch a scale from a sleeping worm
    • Against the blowing wind stand firm
    • Climb a mountain with a stone in your shoe
    • On little feet death comes for you
    • Be the arrow that starts the war
    • Let life's blood fall till it falls no more
  • The runes are death, mountain, war, life, wind, and dragon
  • Min opens the doors on the right side of the room. I follow her into the room
  • The chamber holds four large wooden chests. Hanging from a hook in the middle of the ceiling is a large iron ring with 4 1-foot long iron keys and a single 1-foot long silver key dangling from it
  • We decide to long rest
  • I have nightmares. I dream of my grandchildren dead and buried in the snow.
  • Min unlocks the first chest and opens it. The chest contains a single elven arrow
  • Min unlocks the second chest. There is a dead snowy owl in this chest
  • Min unlocks the third chest. There is a gleaming scale from a young white dragon
  • Min unlocks the fourth chest. There is a fist-sized rock
  • We put the items in the urns. Korag puts some blood in the life urn. Min then blows into the last urn. All the urns erupt into a magical blue fire.
  • The grate now opens, revealing a curving passageway. We head down it. At the end are a set of wooden double doors. They are stoutly closed.
  • Min shoves open the doors. A large oak chest with silver fittings is in the room. A gold key sticks out from the chest. Min takes the key out and tries to pick it. She is unable to pick the lock.
  • Min uses the silver key to unlock the chest, and opens the chest.
  • Contained within the chest on a wooden cradle is a horn of blasting. I believe this would be effective against the black ice dragon. Korag decides to hold onto it.
  • Now how do we get out of here?
  • Min inserts the gold key into the chest, and turns it. Suddenly we hear a magical noise
