Saralas: Session 44

13 Elesias

• We are still at the Black Cabin
• I find the blueprints with Copper's notes and I announce to Macadeus what we are here and trying to do.
• Korag pulls out a paper and pen and looks for a place to set up to see if Macadeus can communicate to us
• As far as we can tell nothing happens
• I head over to the workshop with Baerwin and we are able to get in. It contains a number of tools, materials and so on.
• I survey the blueprints and the ring that Copper created. The ring is complete, no other manufacturing required, and just needs to be installed on the machine.
• Korag asks if we should turn in the stuff to "someone more qualified"
• After some debate we conclude we should deal with this here and now
• Korag is pretty sure it won't activate unless we attune to it and activate the device
• I review the machine and the instructions and determine that I know how to install the third ring and have the tools I need to do it.
• As I review the device and information I note it is crackling with energy. It appears steady state but unstable.
• As I touch it it goes off. Baerwin and I are incinerated
• They talk, is there an opportunity to touch it now?
• I write a short note in the snow "could touch after boom"
• I ask Macradeus how it looks. "I hate to admit it but I think she may have been right."
• He thinks it looks good.
• Baerwin puts a check in the snow. I write "activate pls".
• Korag agrees to attune to the device and try to cast the spell. He attunes to the device. He takes it outside and activates it with the control weather spell.
• It explodes in a blinding flash of power and everyone is incinerated.
• Then the machine stabilizes and begins to work properly. The figure of Lathander presents himself again, walking over the snow and leaving no footprints.
• He crouches down, looks at the machine, which has already begun changing the weather. He smiles, and bestows his blessing upon all of us. He reincarnates us to life in perfect condition, curing all wounds and conditions.
• Macradeus is not returned to life. His life's work being completed, and Lathandar being pleased, he can now rest.
• Saralas discusses what a long and strange journey it has been. While he talks we see two coldlight walkers come around the corner.
• Roll for initiative
• We are fighting a number of coldlight walkers, as before. There are four total as before. Karthos turns Baerwin into a mammoth.
• We kill one and have injured another. Min sees two more coming from the south. We hear a huge noise, a roar, in the trees.
• We've killed three of the six walkers and the huge noise is getting closer.
• An organ falls out of the sky and hits Resda
• Resda, Korag, and Baerwin are looking for the machine
• Min, Saralas, and Karthos are down by the two walkers to the south.
• We kill all but one of the walkers, and meanwhile we see the huge noise is an ice tornado
• Resda flies off to the south, she sees the tornado has cut a swathe through the trees about 50 feet wide
• We get on the sleds and head south.
