- We pull Min up via the rope
- The river to the south has floating chunks of ice in it but is mostly liquid. To the north we see the ice is a lot thicker and it might be passable, though it looks treacherous.
- Rudra is in the lead and she heads farther into the path. I follow her.
- We find a cave containing an abandoned campsite, and the charred remains of three pages in dwarvish
- We find a few noteworthy passages in the notes
- Caves are sacred to the frost giants. Did they use the hot springs as a sacrificial pool?
- The wind truly sounds like a wailing woman. one could go easily mad in this place
- I think there's someone living in these caves. Heard what sounded like a granny singing. When the song ended in a shrill laugh had a horrible cackle. I shall never leave these caves.
- We do not find remains.
- What options do we have?
- Wolf tracks is only not wet route we see
- The group votes for wolf cave. I'm not sure this is a good idea but no one wants to get wet
- Outside is a blizzard, but we make our way safely to the cave to the south
- In this cave the ground is littered in bones, and we see a dire wolf. It's hostile and is snarling at Korag
- It attacks as Korag tries to back away
- During the fight a second wolf approaches from the entrance
- We make it through the fight.
- A search of the cave shows plenty of bones but no sign of the missing fishermen
- We hike back to the dwarf's cave and the others attempt to rest.
- It is now the morning of the 16th
- I suggest we head north, and use our rope to go about the 12 feet down to the frozen water north of the bridge
- We make our way carefully north along the river. This was once a spring but it is now frozen.
- Entombed in the ice are the remains of four frost giants. The must have come up here to drown themselves in the hot springs, which I guess are no longer hot.
- We head east to a rocky beach. I listen carefully and hear what sounds like a boiling kettle to the south.
- Min sneaks into the room to scout. She sees a large, rather ornate cauldron with a wood fire below it.
- She also sees a large butcher block which contains the butchered remains of what appear to be fishermen. There is an old woman tending to the cauldron, dressed in tattered furs, with sickly grayish purple flesh, bulging eyes, and stringy hair.
- She sees Min, so Min waves us forward
- Korag tries to say Hello in common. She croaks out a Hello and cackles out a laugh that sends shivers down his spine.
- Karthos says she's a sea hag, and Korag very forcefully suggests we back out. She calls out after us "leaving before supper?"
- Korag just wants to leave, so we head back to town.
