  • Perilou witness the death of her Goliath companion. She does not know what happened to her other companion, Asterix. She was a plaything for the yeti child until the child seemed to become hypnotized, and an unseen force drug her out of the cave.
  • We find tiefling tracks and follow, trying to find Asterix. We go up, and find a half-buried camp. Buried in the snow is a pair of blue boots. Sitting, huddled in the snow, is a Tiefling. She is frozen solid, with her teeth clenched and her eyes staring at the blue boots in the snow.
  • The blue boots are attached to the bottom half of a shield dwarf explorer. He's been mauled and decapitated.
  • Karthos searches Asterix. He finds a potion of invisibility and a leather-bound spellbook containing 9 wizardly spells.
  • He also searches the dwarf but doesn't find anything of worth.
  • Korag performs last rites and prepares some makeshift graves for the bodies.
  • Now we have to decide whether to head back to Caer-Konig to complete that quest, dragging Garret's body with us through several quests, or straight to Termalaine and then down to Targos. We decide to go to Caer-Konig and bang on the door of the inn, waking up Allie.
  • We meet Wodna, who asks if we met a Wizard in the cultists place. We didn't. Wodna offers 2000 gold for her spellbook if we find her. She's a red wizard of Thay, and an albino.
  • After negotiating badly with Wodna we retire for the evening.
  • The next day we ask Allie for help returning the things, then head towards Termalaine on the way to Targos to return Garret's body.
  • We get paid, 450 gold total, for stopping the nightmares.
  • The mine is back in operations, so the townspeople are fairly happy.
  • We see the owl watching us as we leave the tavern.
  • We decide to stay the night and try to settle up with the sled dog guy in the morning.
  • We pay for the lost dogs and sleds, then we pay again for a new sled and new dogs.
  • We take the sleds down to Targos and return Garrett's corpse to his husband, who is very sad.
  • He gives us a wooden box containing 4 scrimshaw figurines Garrett had carved for Keegan.
  • We head back north towards Lonelywood. The sled dogs make it easier, we make much better time.
  • We stay in the inn, and the next day go out to the loggers to talk, and see if they have heard rumors of the Black Cabin, which we heard was near Lonelywood. An old logger has an idea of the general location of the cabin, and points it out at the maps. They say a crazy man is trying to build a machine to end the winter.
  • We stop by the elven tomb to explore the one unopened door. Inside the door, is a sarcophagus. A beam of light shines down from the 20-foot high domed ceiling.
  • Inside is the withered cadaver of a dead elf. There is an unstrung bow, silver arrowheads, and a wooden cup. I decide against robbing the dead.
  • Kate Bush explains that the mirror is a mirror of scrying, and anyone who attunes to it can use the mirror to see anything anywhere. Ravisin used the mirror to keep tabs on the hunters and loggers to keep away from the first and attack the second.
  • Karthos uses it to spy on the wizard we heard of. He sees an albino tiefling writing in a book.
