Saralas: Session 29
2nd Eleint
- The device emits a huge bass note, shaking the cabin, which is somewhat precariously positioned
- The woman is working, it doesn't look like she needs help, or there's much I can do.
- I go to check on Min and see there's another message, that apparently the ring needs to be bigger. But there's no more suitable material in the workroom. I go to look around for more.
- The lady thinks it will probably work as-is.
- I grab Min and take her to the workroom. It feels like the cabin may fall at any time. I ready myself to try to carry myself and Min and maybe this woman to safety.
- Min casts shape water to form the snow into ice blocks to stabilize the cabin temporarily.
- We finally get the ring in place, and the device appears to stabilize. We move outside, and the woman proceeds to cast "control weather" for summer.
- The machine rises up out of her hands and explodes in radiant, warming light. It feels nice, we haven't felt the sun or warmth in forever. The machine becomes inert, and it drops to the ground where it melts through the snow. It starts to feel warmer.
- Suddenly, thick sunbeams appear from the stormy clouds in the heavens. A beautiful radiant figure of a man appears. We realize we are in the presence of Lathander. He smiles at each of us in turn and says "thank you" then disappears.
- All who were dead return to life, and we receive the blessing of the morning lord. Every morning we receive 10 bonus hit points. The idiots high five each other and walk off, taking the machine with them.
- Min pushes the cabin off the cliff, and we stand and watch.
- As we discuss the happenings a cold fog rolls in. We see that several ice mephits have come in, probably sent by Auril
- Karthos casts dispel magic, which reduces the fog and reveals the several coldlight walkers that were hiding in the fog.
- We do a lot of damage to one, and Korag turns three of them. But the one hits me so hard I'm knocked out. Resda stabilizes me and Karthos helps me onto a sled.
- We run, heading back to Lonelywood. We notice that the weather is back to more like what it should be. We hear the ice of the lake cracking.
- We head back to the inn to get some rest, but before we're truly settled in and resting, four coldlight walkers appear at the inn. They appear to be the same ones that attacked us before.
- We fight, trying to take them one at a time to limit damage. After a hard fight we kill one through a window, one at the doorway, and a third that had broken in through the kitchen and pushed its way into the main room. The fourth is in the hallway, trying to break the door down.
