23 Elesias

  • We are at the temple with Wodna, who is very annoyed
  • We are "supposed to" be on our way to Citadel Abdar
  • We are apparently wanted by the Town Guard all through the Ten Towns for a prison break at Revel's End
  • We of course don't remember any of this
  • Wodna is wondering how she could possibly fix this before she herself is in trouble
  • "Couldn't we ask Bun to see what is going on?" says Karthos. He asks new Bun where he came from.
  • He asks if there is another Min, and they shrug and fly into another room?
  • Wodna asks us to stay here until she can fake our deaths, 1-2 days. She goes off to talk to a priest.
  • The buns have returned and are carrying a small gold idol they stole from somewhere in the temple. Min doesn't ask, just pockets the statue.
  • Korag speaks to min and asks her to return the golden statue. "What golden statue, she says"
  • Wodna returns, says she worked it out and we can stay but we need to not leave the building.
  • The buns fly out of the Min. Korag follows her to try to keep her out of trouble. The buns are prying golden figures off a beautiful carving above an altar.
  • They don't appear to listen to Min who tries to stop them.
  • We choose to peacefully pass the time. The priests are cold and clearly uncomfortable with us being there, but are not rude.

24 Elesias

  • The morning comes, and Wodna returns, telling us we are all very lucky as she has managed to secure bodies. She plans to stage an attack on the road, burn the bodies, and pay a witness to say the wagon was attacked and we all perished.
  • People are probably willing to forget once this blows over and the Lord's Alliance stops pushing
  • She can stage the scene today, they'll probably be able to look it over tomorrow. She recommends we lay low for the next few days, avoid the towns, keep an eye on the wanted posters.
  • We can probably make our way out of town if we're sneaky about it.
  • Wodna can tell us where Jarlmoot is, and points it out on the map.
  • Karthos suggests we wait another day, so he can cast pass without trace

25 Elesias

  • We plan to set out, the fake death should have happened, and we are trying to get out of here quietly
  • Karthos casts pass without trace
  • We get out of town safely and start traveling into the wilds
  • As we travel deeper into the wilderness, the weather starts getting progressively worse, as if a blizzard is going to set in soon.
  • I look for good places to settle or build shelter, but it's bleak and unending tundra as far as we can see
  • Karthos thinks there are a few hours before it's really bad
  • We decide to keep on while we safely can, looking for a place to stop along the way
  • We travel for a few more hours and the weather continues to get worse. The snow is heavier and the wind is harder. We hear shrieking in the distance
  • Karthos is certain we are being stalked and surrounded by a group of coldlight walkers
  • Karthos thinks we should keep moving, but I don't know if we have that much time.
  • We see the cold blue light we are familiar with approaching. We see at least four walkers, though we can't be certain if there are more because of the snow.
  • Two more walkers emerge from the blizzard
  • We kill one of them and do a lot of damage to them, but there are still 5 standing
  • Two our dismay, two more coldlight walkers appear, the westernmost one suddenly bursts into flames
  • A mounted figure riding a Couatl appears out of the storm.
  • The rider of the Couatl hurls another firebolt at the next walker, and it burns to the ground
  • Right on the heels of that Couatl appear 8 more riders, encircling the party
  • They are hurling spells at the coldlight walkers, who are quickly dispatched
  • Two of the riders disappear into the snow, where further fireballs illuminate the distance, and we hear the screams of dying coldlight walkers
  • The lead rider lowers her hood and its Resda's grandmother Moran
  • One calls out to Saralas "you must save Elodie"
  • Another rider hits him "you can't talk to them" and I recognize Wodna's voice.
  • Moran tells us to stay the course, and then they take off into the air and disappear into the snow one by one.
  • I need to find my daughter
  • We continue on making progress as much as we can, while looking for shelter along the way
  • As we leave the area we see coldlight walker after coldlight walker, all of which have been burned and destroyed
  • Korag makes sure all bodies are dismembered or mutilated before we leave them.
  • We are not able to find a safe shelter before the storm comes to pass.
  • We hunker down as best we can though we can't truly rest out here. We set a guard.

26 Elesias

  • We wake up to a cold, bleak morning, though the storm has passed.
  • We continue our journey to Jarlmoot
  • We spend much of the morning traveling, until we see in the distance a distinctive hill set apart from the others. On top are 7 giant thrones covered in ice, arrayed in a ring atop a snow covered hill. Scores of black ravens gather overhead.
  • The thrones are frost giant sized. They all seem equal in construction. For as old as they are they appear to be in remarkably good condition. The site looks long abandoned.
  • Karthos tells us he detects a powerful spell centered in the middle of the area between the thrones. An aura of necromancy
  • Min talks to the ravens and gives them berries.
